The upcoming season has many exciting projects in store for David Steffens.

At the Stuttgart State Opera he is going to perform as Caspar in Carl Maria von Weber’s “The Marksman” – after his festival summer in Bregenz he will bring this role also to his home stage. Two role debuts are going to follow: In October he will sing his first Jochanaan in Richard Strauss’ “Salome”. Easter 2025 will mark his debut as Gurnemanz in Richard Wagner’s “Parsifal”, one of the pinnacles in the bass repertoire.

In January 2025 he was reinvited to the State Opera Berlin as Baron Ochs in Richard Strauss’ “Rosenkavalier”.

Lieder recitals with Josef Hader and Yvonne Gesler at the Konzerthaus Vienna and a ballad evening with the pianist Akemi Murakami at Nymphenburg Castle in Munich also bring two new recital programmes.

On the concert podium he is going to perform along the Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich with Handel’s Messiah, Mozarts Requiem und Mahler’s 8th Symphony at the Great Hall of the Vienna Musikverein and other venues in Austria. Schumann’s Scenes from Goethe’s Faust lead him back to Madrid and the Spanish National Orchestra.
